The actual flight time for a hot air balloon ride in Marrakech typically lasts between 45 and 60 minutes. Including private pick-up, pre-flight preparations, and a delightful post-flight breakfast, the entire experience usually takes approximately three to four hours from start to finish. It is the perfect way to begin an extraordinary day in Morocco.

The best time of year for a hot air balloon flight in Marrakech is from September to May.

During these months, the weather is at its most favourable, offering clear skies, comfortable temperatures, and ideal flying conditions. Early mornings throughout these seasons provide the best visibility and the most breathtaking sunrise views across the desert and mountains.

We recommend dressing in comfortable, casual clothing suitable for outdoor activities.

• Closed-toe shoes (trainers are ideal; avoid sandals or high heels)

• A light jacket or jumper (as mornings can be cool)

• Sunglasses and a hat for additional sun protection

As you will be climbing in and out of the basket and standing during the flight, wearing comfortable and practical clothing ensures you fully enjoy your Marrakech hot air balloon adventure.

Depending on your location, your pick up time will be around 60-90 minutes before sunrise. You will get a notification via WhatsApp the evening before your flight.

We aim to pick up directly from your accommodation. This is not always possible from some of the Riad’s in Medina. In this case we will provide a suitable, safe pick up point for you. with clear instructions on how to get there.

On arrival at our camp you will be greeted with fresh moroccan Mint Tea, Coffee and cake/pastries. Bottled water is also available for you to take on your flight. 

There are toilet facilities at our camp. It is advisable to make sure you visit these before your flight as there are no facilities on board or at our potential landing site.

Our baskets are fitted with foot holes for you to climb in. Should you need additional help, we also have stairs for you to be able to climb aboard. Of course our friendly crew are on hand to assist where needed. 

Your pilot will go through a safety briefing with you. Advising you on the correct landing positions and important safety information. At this point please make sure you are giving your full attention and have clearly understood your instructions. Your safety is our number 1 priority.

Although sometimes possible, hot air balloons travel with the wind and have no method of steering. Once the balloon has safely come back to the ground we will transport you via vehicle back to our camp.

On a clear day you will be able to see the sunrise over the Atlas Mountains, The “little Atlas” and the expanse of Marrakech city to the south. You may also see the Agafay desert and upto 50km into the surrounding valleys at the foothills of the Atlas mountain range.  Not to mention the berber villages and olive groves of the Borrous Valley.

Upon your return to our camp, your traditional berber breakfast will be served. Should you have any special dietary requirements please let us know when booking so we can ensure you are catered for.
